Meet Marc

marcHi. I’m Marc.

I’m a writer, entrepreneur, fitness & health junkie on a mission to help 1000 people make an extra $1000 online by doing what they love.

I like freedom.

Merriam Webster calls that “the absence of necessity, coercion, or constrain in choice or action.”

I call it “doing whatever the hell I feel like whenever I feel like it”.

While the whatever and whenever changes thanks to my Renaissance Soul (Margaret Lobenstine), I’ve noticed that money (rather the lack thereof) plays a huge part in what I do, when I do it, how I do it and how much I do it.

The conclusion I’ve come to is this:

It logically follows that:

Needless to say, I didn’t crawl out the womb feeling this way…(or did I?)

At 16, it took me about 3 days of my first full-time job to figure out that jobs sucked. It wasn’t that I didn’t like working, I just didn’t like the idea of getting so little pay for so much time in addition to this thing called taxes they took out. Sadly, at the time, I figured it was the only avenue I had to make money.

At 19, it took me 2 years of college trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. The turning point was stumbling across a 207 page book that made me lose sleep at night.

That book was Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

I drank the words from those pages till I became drunk with hallucinations of untold riches. The thought of having a boss was officially on life support.

While everything made sense to me, the explanation of 4 ways to make money (and associated mindsets) that kept me up at night.

While I could be rich working for someone else, it’d a helluva damn long and hard road filled with serious nervous breakdown, neck pain, stress, long hours, burning eyes, soul-crushing unfulfillment, depression and disappointment (see the truth here).

While I had my mini-taste of it through part-time college jobs, it was nothing compared to the soulless glaze in friends eyes who graduated before me.

After just 1 year of being in the ‘real world’ with ‘real bills’ and ‘real problems’ they were so jaded, disillusioned and unexcited that they made Emo kids look happy.

Not my cup of tea.

Since I knew nothing about investing, I assumed business was my only real shot at freedom.

The next step was obvious.

I’d fall flat on my face 3 times before finding something that worked so I’d never hold a job after graduating from college.

Now that I’ve graduated, friends keep asking me if I’ve found a job yet. They seem surprised when I tell them I’m not looking for one.

I like waking up to no alarm clock. I like my morning commute to the kitchen. It’s nice to work in my boxers (except in the winter). However, it’s not as much fun to do this stuff alone.

I want more people to join this crazy ride with me.

It’s why I’m on a mission to help 1000 fellow freedom junkies live the kind of lives designed and dictated by themselves.

Does that sound like your cup of tea?

Hey Marc, I came across your site on a hunch. I have a Manly blog that I recently started and after a 401k meeting a co-worker joked about how 401k is all about Manly money. So, I went ahead and googled manly money and landed squarely on your site.

I am a new blogger and I drew a lot of insight from your blog. I would appreciate your advice on how I further improve my blog, the goal being to generate revenue.
